Oh boy, I'm not sure you should have disclosed that method in such a public way. Perhaps you should have gathered a few carefully selected fishers for an evening of 21 year old Bowmore in the den and there divulged this method, but only after having sworn all to secrecy. Now, who knows what will befall our fine finned friends.
fessie,
I was careful not to provide any of the fine points of presentation. You will note that the mere mention of Bowmore was enough to draw the attention of a Scot (Alistair). The technique requires considerable experience in casting...aspersions. I will say no more. Best regards, Reed
That is one serious technique - I wonder if it will work with polaroids on....
Alistair
Alistair,
It is an ancient Scottish technique, attributed to a member of Clan Donald, a MacDonald of Glencoe, who, ruminating on the disaster by a stream one day, emitted such a glower (from Scots - glowren) that one hundred fine finny beasts floated to the surface. This fishing technique was a strict clan secret until the Clearances when it was introduced to Nova Scotia - the clan silence was broken over a bottle of Newfie Screech. It does not work with polaroids as the fish will doubt your sincerity. Best regards, Reed
Ahhhhhh, it all comes into focus now. My mother, being a Scot of Lockeport Nova Scotia she would tell me I was wasting my money on fishing gear. I always attributed her disdain for fishing equipment to her frugal Scottish heritage. Now I know better; she was in on the secret and knew equipment was not really necessary.
fessie,
Your dear mother probably desperately wished to tell you the secret, but, since you are half Sassenach she could not. It is as well. Best regards, Reed |
